Foiled again

In a recent blog I talked about using cinefoil which is a thick aluminium foil with a matt black surface which can be rubbed back to reveal the silver aluminium. What, I wondered, could I do with aluminium kitchen foil. I’ve been experimenting……

In the example below a piece of driftwood is covered with kitchen foil and then painted with black acrylic paint. When the paint is dry, the surface is rubbed to bring through the texture of the wood and in the process the paint is also rubbed off in places. Its like using cinefoil but the kitchen foil is much thinner and more able to pick up the surface of the wood. Much scope for further exploring here. I think.
