Glass and glue

These pieces form part of my exploration of wholeness and its opposite brokenness.

The glass was coated with silicone before being broken with a hammer. The silicone holds the glass together just enough for it to be worked in different ways. They remain very fragile and the edges are sharp so they are not suitable for display as they stand but its an idea worth taking further perhaps.

      • Some thoughts come into my head – I think it might look interesting with light shining through? 3 dimensional structures? Would coloured glass break in the same way?

  1. Thank you for your thoughts. Definitely it would work with light through it. Perhaps coloured light.
I’m not sure you can get coloured toughened glass which is what I need for it to break into those small pieces and not big cracks.
