Continuing to explore wholeness and roundness. Hand-carved Paulownia wood with gold leaf and black acrylic paint both rubbed in and worked by hand.
Made to be handled and held.
In it’s native China, the tree was apparently planted at the birth of a girl, and because it is so fast-growing it matured when she did. When she was eligible for marriage the tree was cut down and made into articles for her dowry.
